Principia Personnel

Willem A. Schreüder, B.Sc., Hons. B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D, MS, Ph.D

President

Dr. Schreüder specializes in numerical analysis, mathematical modelling, computational fluid dynamics and parallel systems. He has extensive experience in applying complex numerical models to practical problems and the development of scientific software to solve these problems. He has developed and applied software for mathematical models, scientific visualization and geographic information systems. His modeling expertise include general computational fluid dynamics, ground and surface water hydrology and contaminant transport, heat and mass transport, turbulence modeling, dynamic systems and operations research. Dr. Schreüder specializes in basin scale groundwater models and has provided expert testimony regarding groundwater modeling and hydrogeology in the United States Supreme Court, Federal and State courts. He also has extensive experience in high performance computing, is the author of BeoPEST, and is a contributor to the GNU and Qt projects. He is an Teaching Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Steven E. Cole, BS, MS

Senior Engineer Emeritus

Mr. Cole specializes in data analysis and database management, mathematical modeling, and computational fluid mechanics. He has extensive experience in the development/application of databases and mathematical modeling efforts as applied to solving complex site-related problems. He has devised and applied refined analytical techniques for data analysis and mathematical modeling to characterize different site conditions. His modeling expertise includes general computational fluid mechanics, and ground and surface water hydrology and contaminant transport.

Devraj Sharma, B.Sc., B.Sc. (Eng) Hons., M. Tech., Ph.D., D.I.C.

President Emeritus

Dr. Sharma has been responsible for pioneering the development and the implementation of modern advanced methods of assembling, analyzing and simulating complex data sets as well as site conditions. As Principal engineer/scientist his expertise in the fields of data analysis and mathematical modelling are applied to: ground water flow modelling within large basins that contain surface streams and within which conjunctive water-use issues involving complex interactions of deep percolation, well pumping rates along with aquifer-stream flow interactions and phreatophyte evapotranspiration; transport of light as well as dense fluids which may or may not be miscible with ground water; transport of organic and inorganic solutes; and, ground water as well as soils remediation design. He has provided expert witness testimony in each of these subjects at several recent high-visibility litigation. His additional work experience include: evaluating mathematical modelling efforts as undertaken by other scientists; evaluating state-of-the-art mathematical models applied to predict flow and contaminant transport; teaching courses in hydrologic modelling and computational methods to personnel from advanced academic institutions and industrial organizations in the U.S.A., Europe, Japan and Africa.
