Following the conclusion of the Sunday Celebration, a caravan of 7 vehicles set off for Rollins Pass and the Excursion to Corona. Although it was not your typical leasurely Sunday
afternoon drive, the scenery was spectacular and it was amazing to realize a railroad went up and over this route some 100 years ago. Our caravan of vehicles stopped frequently for natural
bathroom breaks and to enjoy the scenery (see pictures below). As we approached our destination, we met up with some other Pederson Reunion attendees that had started their journey a bit earlier
(David, Mary, & Anne Pederson, Jeff Pederson, and Jose & Jackson Bell). Our caravan had now grown to 9 vehicles and we all continued on a bit further before we found a nice lunch spot. As the group
exited the vehicles, the younger Pederson clan immediately started climbing the mountain to have lunch at the top of the Continental Divide. Many of the Pederson 1st Cousins decided to follow along,
although at a much slower pace. Thunder & Lightning, followed by Rain, also decided to join the climbing group, and it became a bit of a hair-raising (just ask any of the girls about their new
hair styles) & wet adventure. Fortunately, the Lord protected everyone in the group and everyone made it safely back to their vehicles. After determining that the rain was not going to go away and
come again another day, everyone headed back down the road after an enjoyable afternoon. Pederson family members participating in the Excursion to Corona included: Mark, Kris, Sarah, & Ben
Anderson, Rick, Karen, Rachel, & John Cramer, Luther, Karysa, & Kalley Pederson, Lindy, Doreen, Derek, & Brenna Pederson, Randy, Erik, Alexander, & Stephanie Pederson, Courtney Thomas (Alexander's friend),
Leland Pederson, Jeff Pederson, Jose & Jackson Bell, David, Mary, & Anne Pederson, Harold & Florence Cole, Jeff, Tanner, & Olivia Cole, Steve, Tyler, & Grant Cole, and Daralynne Harris (Tyler's girlfriend). |
