Altitude Sickness

For the vast majority of Reunion attendees, the change in altitude will be noticeable. Whereas the elevation in Minnesota ranges from 600-1000 feet, the elevation of the Fraser Valley ranges from about 8,000-9,000 feet. At altitudes of 8,000 feet and above, people who are not used to high altitudes can experience Altitude Sickness (PDF file). This can cause symptions such as a headache and not feeling like eating. As the body gets used to the altitude, the symptoms go away. Staying hydrated can help in preventing altitude sickness, so drink plenty of water, especially when you first arrive!
